Gardaí Probe Separate Galway City Burglaries After Home Ransacked

Gardaí in Galway city have launched an investigation following two separate residential burglaries, one of which resulted in a family home being thoroughly ransacked by intruders in search of valuables.

The first break-in occurred at a residential property in the city, where intruders forced entry through a rear window. Once inside, they systematically searched the house, ransacking bedrooms and living areas. A quantity of personal items and cash was reported missing. In a separate incident nearby, another home was targeted in a similar fashion, raising concerns among local residents about active burglars in the area.

Crime scene investigators have processed both properties for DNA and fingerprint evidence, and local patrols have been stepped up in response to the incidents. Gardaí are checking local CCTV systems and doorbell camera footage to identify any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the neighborhoods around the times of the break-ins.

Gardaí have advised homeowners to ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, even when occupied, and to avoid keeping large sums of cash or high-value jewellery on the premises. Members of the public who may have noticed any unusual activity or unfamiliar vehicles in Galway city on April 1 are urged to contact investigators at Galway Garda Station.
