Home Invasion and Assault in Joliet

A 19-year-old woman broke into a home on the 1400 block of North Larkin Avenue in Joliet, Illinois, on August 25, 2023, and attacked her ex-boyfriend and others, according to police. The woman, identified as 19-year-old Kayla, was arrested and charged with burglary, aggravated battery, and criminal damage to property. She is being held on a $50,000 bond.

During the incident, the woman stole items valued at $2,000. The ex-boyfriend and another individual were injured during the attack. The ex-boyfriend was treated for injuries and released from the hospital. The other individual was also treated for injuries. The woman escaped the scene but was later apprehended by police. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information.
