Home Invasion and Attempted Sexual Assault in Redding

On the night of October 1, 2023, a home in the 100 block of Redding Road, Redding, Connecticut, was invaded by an intruder. The suspect, later identified as a 35-year-old man from Ansonia, broke into the residence through an unlocked window around 11:30 PM. The intruder, who was armed with a knife, attempted to sexually assault the homeowner, a 45-year-old woman, but she managed to fight him off and escape injury. The intruder fled the scene with a laptop and a small amount of cash, valued at approximately $500.

The homeowner immediately called the police, who arrived at the scene and began an investigation. The suspect was apprehended later that night in Ansonia.
