Home Invasion and Shooting in O’Fallon, Illinois

On the night of October 12, 2023, a home invasion occurred at a residence in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue in O’Fallon, Illinois. The intruder, later identified as 25-year-old Brandon Lee, forced his way into the home through a rear door, which had been left unlocked. Lee, armed with a handgun, confronted the homeowner, a 35-year-old woman, and demanded money and valuables. The woman, in an attempt to defend herself, was shot in the leg during the altercation. Despite her injuries, she managed to call 911, and Lee fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry, estimated to be worth over $5,000.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the 911 call and found the woman with a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. The police launched a manhunt for Lee, who was apprehended the following day in a nearby neighborhood. Lee was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, home invasion, and armed robbery. The police have not released any further details about the investigation or the condition of the victim.
