Home Invasion Leads to Suspect's Death in Chicago

On September 15, 2023, a home invasion occurred in the 700 block of East 103rd Street in Chicago's South Deering neighborhood. The suspect, armed with a handgun, forced entry into the residence and stole an unspecified amount of cash and jewelry valued at $50,000. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police responded to the scene and engaged in a pursuit with the suspect. During the chase, the suspect crashed the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Officers pursued the suspect and a confrontation ensued, resulting in the suspect being shot and killed. No injuries were reported among the residents or police officers involved in the incident.
