Man Arrested After Burglary and Attempted Rape in Northwest Columbus

On January 16, 2026, a man was arrested in northwest Columbus after allegedly attempting to rape a woman and burglarizing a home. The incident occurred at a residence on the 2900 block of West Lane Avenue. The suspect, identified as a serial prowler, entered the home through an unlocked window and attempted to assault the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was able to escape injury and alert authorities. The suspect was later apprehended by police and charged with attempted rape and burglary. The stolen items, valued at approximately $5,000, included jewelry, electronics, and cash. Police are appealing to the public for any additional information that could aid in their investigation.
