Man Charged Following Burglary in Mansfield and Attempted Robbery in Ashford

A Willimantic man has been charged by police following a series of criminal incidents, including a burglary committed in Mansfield and an attempted robbery in neighboring Ashford.

Law enforcement authorities launched a search after receiving reports of a break-in at a property in the Mansfield area. The suspect allegedly entered the premises unlawfully before fleeing. Shortly afterward, police received a call regarding an attempted robbery in Ashford, where a suspect fitting the same description attempted to rob a victim.

Officers from the local department quickly located the suspect and placed him under arrest. He faces charges of burglary and attempted robbery, among other offenses. He is currently being held in custody awaiting his initial court appearance.

This incident has prompted police to remind residents to keep their properties secure and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods immediately. A spokesperson thanked the public for their assistance during the investigation.
