Man Fatally Shot During Robbery at Pompano Beach Smoke Shop

On October 1, 2023, a man was fatally shot during a robbery at a smoke shop located at 1400 N Federal Hwy in Pompano Beach, Florida. The incident occurred when two armed suspects entered the store, demanding money and other items. The suspects, who were wearing masks and gloves, forced the store owner and a customer to the ground at gunpoint. The owner was shot in the chest during the altercation and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables. The Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) is investigating the case and has appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. No arrests have been made as of yet. The victim's brother expressed his grief, stating, 'I wasn't able to protect him.'
