Menasha Man Arrested for Burglary with Samurai Sword After Standoff

Menasha, Wisconsin — A man was taken into custody by Menasha police following a burglary incident that involved the use of a samurai sword and a subsequent standoff. The burglary occurred at a residence on the 200 block of South 19th Street on the evening of October 10, 2023. The suspect, armed with a samurai sword, entered the home and stole several items, including a television valued at $500 and a laptop worth $800, totaling approximately $1,300 in stolen property.

The suspect fled the scene but was later located by police in the area. A standoff ensued, during which the suspect was eventually apprehended without any injuries reported. Police have not released the suspect's name pending further investigation. The Menasha Police Department is appealing to the public for any additional information that could aid in the ongoing investigation.
