Overnight Burglary Spree Hits Chebo Restaurant and Other Eagle Rock Small Businesses
EAGLE ROCK, Los Angeles — A wave of overnight burglaries has left local business owners in the Eagle Rock community shaken and calling for increased security measures. During the early morning hours of Sunday, March 31, 2024, a single suspect targeted at least three popular small businesses along the busy Colorado Boulevard corridor.
According to security footage and owner accounts, the suspect utilized a consistent method of entry: using a brick to smash through the front glass doors of the establishments. Once inside, the individual moved quickly and methodically, targeting cash registers directly. One of the primary businesses hit was Chebo Restaurant, a beloved local eatery. The owner of Chebo Restaurant reported significant property damage in addition to the stolen cash, expressing deep frustration over the incident.
Local business owners noted that the perpetrator appeared to have conducted prior research, as they bypassed security and headed straight for the cash tills. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is currently investigating the break-ins, reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspect. Community leaders have urged residents to support the affected businesses as they recover from the losses and repair their storefronts.
