Rhyl man Christopher Fuhrmann handed suspended sentence after devastating home burglary
A Rhyl man has received a suspended prison sentence following a residential burglary in Colwyn Bay that left the victim devastated. Christopher Fuhrmann, 42, of East Parade, Rhyl, was identified after investigators matched fingerprints left at the crime scene.
The Burglary and Fraud
On April 24, 2023, Fuhrmann gained entry to the home of Leon Rabasa, a music industry professional, through an open bathroom window. He stole keys, bank cards, a business card, and two laptops containing specialized music production software critical to the victim's livelihood. Fuhrmann subsequently used a stolen PayPal business card to make fraudulent purchases totaling ยฃ248.24 on food, footwear, toiletries, and alcohol across Llandudno and Colwyn Bay.
Arrest and Sentencing
Fuhrmann was arrested at a pub in Colwyn Bay on April 26, 2023, wearing shoes matching those seen on CCTV during the fraudulent transactions. At Mold Crown Court, Fuhrmann pleaded guilty to burglary and fraud. He was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, after the court heard details of the emotional and financial impact on the victim.
