Santa Fe Man Charged in Armed Robberies

On October 1, 2023, two armed robberies occurred in the south side of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The first incident took place at a residence on Calle de la Plata, where the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door and demanded money and jewelry at gunpoint. The victim, a 45-year-old woman, was not injured, but the suspect fled with approximately $2,000 in cash and jewelry valued at $5,000. The second incident occurred at a nearby business on Cerrillos Road, where the suspect entered the store and demanded cash from the register, again using a firearm. The suspect escaped with around $1,500 in cash.

Police responded to both scenes and launched an investigation. On October 3, 2023, authorities arrested 32-year-old local resident, John Doe, in connection with the robberies. Doe was charged with two counts of armed robbery and is being held at the Santa Fe County Detention Center without bail. The police are appealing to the public for any additional information that could aid in their investigation.
