Smash-and-Grab Burglaries Target Businesses in Chicago

Chicago police issued a community alert Thursday about a string of smash-and-grab burglaries targeting businesses on the city's North and Northwest sides. One of the incidents occurred at a business on the 5800 block of North Lincoln Avenue, where burglars used a brick to smash a window and steal a safe containing an estimated $20,000 in cash and jewelry. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

The burglars were captured on surveillance footage, and police are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to their arrest. No injuries were reported in the incident.
