Teen Dies in Attempt to Protect Grandmother During Baltimore Home Invasion

On October 1, 2023, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed while attempting to protect his grandmother during a home invasion at a residence in the 1700 block of East Baltimore Street in East Baltimore, Maryland. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspects, armed with guns, forced their way into the home and demanded valuables. They stole an estimated $5,000 worth of jewelry and cash. The grandmother was not injured in the incident.

Three suspects, aged 20, 21, and 22, were arrested and charged in connection with the burglary and homicide. The trio, who were apprehended in a nearby neighborhood, were ordered to be held without bail by a Baltimore judge. The suspects are facing charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and home invasion. The police are appealing for any additional information that could help in the ongoing investigation.
