Three Businesses Burglarized in Newark, Delaware

A Philadelphia man was arrested after a burglary spree targeting three businesses in Newark and Wilmington, Delaware. The incidents occurred on the night of October 10, 2023. The first burglary took place at a convenience store located at 123 Main Street, Newark. The suspect gained entry by breaking a window and stole approximately $500 in cash and cigarettes. The second burglary occurred at a nearby restaurant on 456 Elm Street, where the suspect broke in through the back door and stole around $300 in cash and electronics. The third burglary happened at a retail store on 789 Oak Street, Wilmington, where the suspect broke a window to enter and stole about $2,000 worth of merchandise. The suspect was identified as a 35-year-old man from Philadelphia, who was apprehended by police after a brief chase. He sustained minor injuries during his arrest and was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Delaware Department of Correction. Police are appealing to the public for any additional information that could help in their investigation.
