Two Women Arrested Following Double Burglary and Assault at West End House in Crewe
CREWE, Cheshire — Two women have been arrested by Cheshire Police following a series of incidents in the West End of Crewe, where a house was targeted twice in quick succession, resulting in the assault of a resident.
The suspects, both 37-year-old local women, were arrested on Friday, January 26, 2024, on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling. They have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries by detectives.
Double Burglary and Physical Assault
The police investigation began after reports emerged that the suspects forced their way into a home located in Crewe's West End area on two separate occasions within a short timeframe. During the course of the burglaries, the occupant of the property was physically assaulted by the intruders.
In addition to the physical assault on the resident, the perpetrators ransacked the property and stole multiple personal items. The stolen goods included official documentation, clothing, and various items of jewellery.
Police Investigation and Bail
Following a rapid response, local officers located and arrested both suspects on January 26. Police have confirmed that the victim sustained injuries during the encounters, though the full extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.
Detectives from Crewe CID are continuing to piece together the timeline of the events and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious individuals or vehicles in the West End area around the dates of the incidents to come forward.
