Willimantic Man Charged in Connection with Mansfield Burglary and Ashford Robbery Attempt

A Willimantic resident is facing multiple criminal charges following a joint investigation into a residential burglary in Mansfield and an attempted robbery in Ashford. Local law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect after matching physical descriptions and vehicle details from the respective crime scenes.

The suspect reportedly targeted a property in Mansfield, successfully forcing entry and removing items before fleeing the scene. Shortly after, police received reports of a tense attempted robbery in Ashford, where a suspect fitting the same description unsuccessfully attempted to demand money from a victim before being scared off.

State and local police compiled evidence that quickly linked the suspect to both incidents. He has been charged with third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit robbery, and several related offenses. The suspect is currently being held on bond pending his arraignment in court.
