Allentown Man Charged in Robbery Attempts at Domino's Pizza and 7-Eleven
An Allentown man has been charged with attempting to rob both a Domino's Pizza and a 7-Eleven store in the same day. The incidents occurred on October 19, 2023, with the first attempt at the Domino's Pizza located at 2111 N. 17th Street. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Michael Smith, entered the Domino's Pizza around 2:00 PM, brandishing a knife and demanding money. He fled the scene empty-handed after the employee refused to comply.
Later that day, around 4:00 PM, Smith attempted to rob the 7-Eleven store at 1501 N. 17th Street. He again brandished a knife and demanded money, but the clerk managed to activate the silent alarm. Police arrived quickly and apprehended Smith as he attempted to flee on foot. No injuries were reported in either incident. Smith was charged with two counts of robbery and one count of criminal attempt to commit robbery. Authorities have not disclosed the value of the attempted thefts.
