Burglary and Car Theft in Tallai Leads to Arrests

Two individuals have been charged following a burglary and car theft incident in Tallai on the morning of 10 October 2023. Around 5 am, two men allegedly entered a residence on Grandview Terrace, stealing several items before locating the keys to a silver Hyundai hatchback parked on the driveway. The men then stole the car but collided with a nearby fence. They returned to the residence and attempted to steal additional items, including a blue BMW station wagon. Police arrived and apprehended the two men as they tried to leave the property.

The suspects have been identified as a 33-year-old man from Mudgeeraba and a 31-year-old man from Ashmore. Both have been charged with two counts of entering premises and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The 31-year-old will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on 11 October, while the 33-year-old is scheduled to reappear on 4 November.
