Erie Man Sentenced for Drill-Assisted Store Robberies

An Erie man, identified as 32-year-old John Doe, was sentenced to 8 to 16 years in prison for his role in two separate store robberies that occurred in Erie, Pennsylvania. Doe pleaded guilty to charges related to the heists, which involved the use of a drill to gain entry into the stores.

The first robbery took place on January 15, 2023, at a convenience store located at 123 Main Street. Doe used a drill to break into the store's safe, stealing approximately $5,000 in cash. The second robbery occurred on February 5, 2023, at a nearby liquor store on 456 Elm Street. In this incident, Doe again used a drill to access the store's safe, making off with $3,000 in cash and several bottles of high-value liquor worth $2,000. Doe was apprehended by police a week later after a tip-off from an anonymous source. No injuries were reported in either incident. The police have not made any further appeals for information as the case is now closed.
