Laois Business Owner Praises Staff Member's Bravery During Robbery

A shopkeeper in County Laois has publicly commended the outstanding bravery and composure of a staff member during a recent robbery at their retail premises. The incident, which occurred on July 23, 2025, saw an individual enter the shop and demand cash while intimidating the employee on duty.

Calm Under Pressure

Despite the high-stress situation, the staff member remained remarkably calm, adhering to safety protocols and preventing the situation from escalating into physical violence. The suspect subsequently fled the scene with a small sum of cash from the register, leaving the employee physically unharmed but shaken by the experience.
