Man Arrested After Attempted Burglaries at Two Dover Vape Shops

On the night of October 20, 2023, two vape shops in Dover, Delaware, were targeted in attempted burglaries. The first incident occurred at a shop located at 1000 N Dupont Hwy, while the second took place at 1000 S Dupont Hwy. In both cases, the suspect attempted to gain entry by smashing windows, but was unsuccessful in stealing any merchandise.

The suspect, a 30-year-old Dover man, was later identified and arrested following a pursuit by Dover Police. The pursuit began after the second attempted burglary and ended when the suspect crashed his vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with two counts of attempted burglary, criminal mischief, and reckless driving. No injuries were reported during the incidents or the pursuit. Police are appealing to the public for any additional information that may assist in their investigation.
