The incident, which shocked the local West Cork community, targeted a vital local business. The perpetrator gained unauthorized entry to the premises during the night, ransacking offices and production areas, and making off with high-value goods and equipment.

Gardai conducted an extensive investigation, tracking the stolen items and security footage, which ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect. In court, details of the significant financial and operational impact on the family business were outlined, emphasizing the disruption caused to local employment and trade.
