Security Guard Killed in Jackson Gas Station Shooting

Three teenagers have been arrested and charged with capital murder following the fatal shooting of a security guard at a gas station in Jackson, Mississippi. The incident occurred on October 2, 2023, at a gas station located at 4500 McDowell Road. The security guard, identified as 45-year-old John Doe, was on duty when three masked individuals entered the station and demanded money from the cash register. The guard was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The suspects, all minors, were apprehended after a brief chase. Police reported that the teens fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, which was later recovered. The stolen items, including cash and cigarettes, were valued at approximately $1,500.
