Tacoma Pot-Shop Burglary Results in Shootout and Fatality

On the night of March 11, 2023, a group of armed suspects attempted to rob a marijuana dispensary located at 123 Main Street, Tacoma, Washington. The burglars, who were masked and armed with handguns, forced their way into the store through the front door. During the robbery, a security guard was shot and injured. The suspects attempted to steal cash and marijuana products valued at approximately $50,000. However, the guard managed to return fire, resulting in a shootout.

During the chaos, one of the suspects, a 21-year-old man, was fatally shot. The deceased was identified as a budtender at the dispensary. The father of the deceased budtender later sued the dispensary, but the case was dismissed. Another suspect, a 17-year-old teenager, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the burglary. The remaining suspects fled the scene but were later apprehended by police. The injured guard was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are appealing for any witnesses or information that could help in the ongoing investigation.
