Two Charged in Connection with Des Moines Convenience Store Robbery

Two individuals have been charged in connection with a convenience store robbery that occurred in Des Moines, Iowa. The incident took place on the 27th of June at a convenience store located at 3000 Merle Hay Road. The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Michael Johnson and 21-year-old Jessica Lee, were apprehended by police following a thorough investigation.

According to police reports, the suspects entered the store around 10:30 PM, brandishing a firearm. They demanded cash from the register and proceeded to steal a significant amount of cigarettes, valued at approximately $1,500. The total value of the stolen items, including cash, is estimated to be around $3,000. The suspects fled the scene on foot but were later apprehended by police.
