Windsor Police Officer Arrested for Burglary and Harassment

On October 1, 2023, a Windsor police officer was arrested on charges of burglary and harassment after entering the home of his ex-girlfriend while she was asleep. The incident occurred at a residence on the 100 block of 11th Street in Windsor, Colorado. The officer, whose name has not been released, was reportedly wearing his police uniform and was armed with his service weapon during the incident.

The officer allegedly entered the home through an unlocked door and proceeded to steal a laptop valued at $1,200 and a cell phone valued at $800. The ex-girlfriend woke up to find the officer in her home and confronted him, leading to a verbal altercation. The officer then left the residence, fleeing the scene in his personal vehicle.

The victim reported the incident to the Windsor Police Department, which led to an internal investigation. The officer was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary and harassment. The Windsor Police Department has not released the name of the officer pending further investigation. The department has also issued an appeal to the public for any additional information related to the incident.
